This 24 month program includes learning the technical, business and personality skills needed to be successful in the beauty industry. We teach our stylists to be well rounded in all aspects of cosmetology with a heavy focus on hair color, haircutting and specialty hair color services.
After completion of the program, the apprentice will be eligible to take the Maryland cosmetology state board test to receive their certified state cosmetology license.
Hours: Apprentices are required to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week, which includes both paid time as part of our salon support team and educational training hours. These training hours include hands-on learning with your sponsor stylist and participation in workshops focused on technical and professional development. As you progress in the program, your responsibilities and schedule may grow to include additional opportunities for skill-building and client work. A flexible schedule and commitment to learning are essential to getting the most out of this experience.
Fees & Kit: While there is no tuition, there are application costs for a sponsorship through the state as well as tools required for the job. The Hair Station will provide a kit that will include all learning materials needed, tools needed and more. The upfront cost of these items will range from $500-$750.
