This isn’t just a job—it’s a place to grow.
At The Hair Station, we’re committed to building careers, not just filling positions. Through hands-on experience, structured growth paths, and a team that genuinely supports one another, we create an environment where you can develop your skills, build confidence, and find your place in the industry.
We believe in working smarter, not harder—and in helping you create a version of success that actually feels like yours.
I started my career in the hair industry in 2005, and over the years, I’ve experienced just about every side of it—chain salons, independent salons, commission, and booth rent. I’ve moved states and rebuilt my clientele more than once, so I truly understand the challenges, uncertainty, and growth that come with being a stylist.
I never originally set out to become a salon owner, but after years of thinking “there has to be a better way,” I decided to take the leap in November 2019. Since then, I’ve gradually stepped away from behind the chair to focus fully on growing the business and supporting my team.
Today, my passion is developing stylists—not just in their technical skills, but in their confidence, careers, and leadership. I believe this industry has so much to offer, and my goal is to help our team navigate it with clarity, support, and intention. I am constantly learning and evolving in the areas of business and marketing so that I can better lead, educate, and empower our team to work smarter, not harder.
I’m a big believer in open, honest communication and creating a space where feedback, growth, and even tough conversations are part of the process. More than anything, I love helping our team grow into the best version of themselves—and maybe even future leaders or salon owners.
With gratitude,
Megan Genson
